Stanislaw Lem: The Futurological Congress
In these times we tend to dwell on the issue of reality: what is reality, how can we know we're living in it? How restricted is our cognition capacity? The popular output of all this is the movie Matrix, which, however, is not as original as one would think at the first glance. Here's for example this work of genius, The Futurological Congress, with the difference that the desired comfortable reality is created by taking pills. A masterfully written, thought-provoking story.
